Pooped Pup...

This is a good illustration of how I'm feeling
after a couple of rough days at work
and my Pilates workout this afternoon.
It's all good though!

An Announcement...

Just thought you might like to know!

Do you occasionally suffer the embarrassing symptoms of
FIMS?

Foot in Mouth Syndrome

Wouldn't it be nice to have an automatic "Delete" button somewhere between the time we think a thought and before it rushes out of our mouths?  Or, how about a "Spam" filter, forcing any unpleasantry hoping to escape past our lips down our throats instead?
Life might be much less embarrassing and painful for all of us if we could figure this one out.  Maybe we would be more careful if a foot began growing out of our mouths each time we said something stupid or hurtful - kind of like Pinocchio's nose!

My Pilates Path

Four years ago my husband introduced me to Pilates.  You can read more about it here.  I loved it.  But a series of different life circumstances (primarily money-related... the lack of it!) required that I turn from the Pilates Path for a season.

Recently, I found myself back on the Pilates Path and I am loving it.
We use equipment like this:
   Reformer Table

and this:
Pilates Chair
to exercise the muscles in the core.

A strong core supports the skeleton, which makes everything feel (and look) happy!  The exercises appear deceptively simple, but I promise the muscles are being used.  Muscles you never knew you had!  And a Pilates muscle is long and lean and strong.

Nice.

The only downside of the Pilates Path is it is very expensive.  I am currently draining my savings for my private lessons.  But, it is worth it, as it helps with a whole host of issues (posture and headaches for starters). It is also gentle on my joints, which is getting more and more important to me!  I would love to join a group class (which would drastically cut the cost), but the only classes available that fit into my schedule are full - not surprising when there are only 5 in a class.  So, I will do the privates for as long as fiscally feasible and hope a spot opens up in one of the classes in the meantime.

Stone Walls and  Easter Blessings

Life is like a stone wall.

Experiences, relationships, challenges and personal victories are like millions of different shaped stones we each use to build the very best walls (or lives) we can.

However, no matter how carefully we try to make the "perfect" stone wall, there will always be gaps we cannot fill.

That is where one of the blessings of Easter comes into play.  The effect of the Atonement of Christ in our lives is like the mortar in a stone wall.
In ways we cannot comprehend, Christ fills in the gaps of our lives.  He asks only that we do our very best with what we've been given and promises us that he will make up the difference.

How grateful I am for his unconditional love and the hope it provides.
